Describe a general scenario, without names or identifying details. The published library is searched for the legislation and guidance that fit.

Every answer names the legislation behind it. Check the current version and its date before relying on it.

- Every answer is checked against the library
- Each point must be tied to a passage the library holds, and the answer names the legislation. An answer that can’t be tied to the library is withheld.
- Where the law applies
- England & Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland law sit in one UK library. Answers say when a provision applies in only part of the UK.
- Dates are respected
- Sources can carry effective dates. Material that hasn’t started yet, or has ended, is left out of answers.
- Excerpts are labelled as excerpts
- If AI generation is unavailable, you still see the matching library passages, marked as excerpts rather than an answer.
- Your chats stay yours
- Chats are saved to your account so you can return to them, and you can delete them at any time. Questions go to an AI provider only to generate the answer; the privacy policy has the details.
